I’ve been a little quieter online lately for a good reason. I’ve been spending time traveling to see family and friends, and while it’s been wonderful, it’s also completely wrecked my routine. Add jet lag into the mix, and let’s just say my productivity has been negotiable.
The good news? Even while traveling, I still managed to hit one of the biggest milestones for Book Two in the A Crown of Blood and Magic trilogy.
The proofreading is officially finished.
That means the manuscript itself is finally done.
I’ve also been working closely with my cover illustrator throughout the trip. The illustration is now complete, and we’re currently polishing the typography.
Once the typography is finalized, the only major production step left is formatting the ebook and paperback. After that, the book will be ready to upload to Amazon and begin its preorder campaign.
If all the stars align, that could happen by the end of July, which would technically keep me on track for a summer launch.
That said, I’ve learned not to promise dates I can’t guarantee. Publishing has a habit of reminding me that unexpected things happen, so I’d rather pleasantly surprise you than announce a deadline I later have to move.
As for Book Three, I haven’t written during this trip. Between travel, family, and trying to function despite jet lag, it just wasn’t realistic.
But before I left, I had a few breakthroughs in the first draft, and they got me excited.
My goal is to release the third and final book roughly a year after Book Two. There’s still a long road ahead, but that timeline feels achievable.
